Rachel Henderson, MA, LICSW (she/her/hers)
After receiving my bachelors degree in social work from Elms College, I went on to complete my masters in social work in 2015 from Westfield State. I completed my masters level internship at After Incarcerated Support Systems with the Hampden Country Sheriffs Department counseling individuals post incarceration. Most of my work experience has been with children, particularly working closely with the Department of Children and Families to place children with childcare services and helping families connect with other resources.
Prior to joining this field I have extensive experience coaching youth sports as well as working in various age groups in daycares, which gives me multiple perspectives on child development. I love working with children as well as adults and feel my experience within the field as well as out of the field has helped me gain the tools necessary to working with both.
My approach to counseling is looking at a person as a whole and to help facilitate a process where an individual can discover strengths, qualities and tools that may help in the ongoing healing process.
Personally I really love spending time with my family and love being involved in sports.
